Every Gift Box Gives Back

Our Chosen Local Charities

For every gift box purchased, Sensiful will donate 50p to local causes. Donations will be split between Shooting Star Children's Hospices and The Fountain Centre to help them with their wonderful work for our community.

SHOOTING STAR CHILDREN'S HOSPICES

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care.

Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count.  Their bespoke support is free of charge to families and includes a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family, specialist nursing care and respite, symptom management, end-of-life care and bereavement support.

They support 700 families living throughout Surrey and across 15 London boroughs.  It costs £8.8 million a year to maintain their current level of care, and with only a small percentage of income coming from central government and statutory funding, they rely on their supporters’ generosity to keep their vital service running.

THE FOUNTAIN CENTRE

The Fountain Centre is a small independent charity situated within St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford. This service is offered from diagnosis and beyond to cancer patients and their carers who live within Surrey, West Sussex, and Hampshire. Their support is provided through the provision of a Complementary Therapy Service, a Psychological Support Service including children and families, and an Information and Signposting Service.

Their Children and Family Counselling Service is unique in England, they believe. This team works with those cancer patients who have school age children or younger – currently about 20% of all patients. All of this support is offered with the help of over 100 volunteers. The Centre depends on the support of local companies and community groups, and generous individuals, to cover their annual costs of over £200k.

In the words of one of their volunteers, “The Fountain Centre is an amazing place, filled with love, compassion and hope. You are all incredible people and help so many people who are dealing with cancer. I’m proud to be involved.”
